Connecting Non-OneKey Hardware Wallets

The OneKey App supports connecting and using third-party devices such as Ledger and Trezor.

In addition to connecting OneKey hardware wallets, the OneKey App also supports connecting select third-party hardware wallets. Once connected, you can use the OneKey App to manage accounts and assets in your hardware wallet, as well as use basic functions such as sending and receiving.

For select supported blockchains and accounts, you can also use on-chain features provided by the OneKey App, such as trading, swapping, or staking. Please refer to the actual display within the OneKey App for specific supported brands, models, blockchains, and features.

Note: When connecting non-OneKey hardware wallets, assets remain secured by the hardware wallet itself. The OneKey App only acts as an interface to manage and use the hardware wallet and will not access or take custody of your private keys or Seed Phrase.

Preparation Before Connecting

Before you begin connecting, please make sure:

  • The OneKey App is updated to the latest version;

  • Your hardware wallet has sufficient battery or is connected via USB;

  • The hardware wallet is initialized and the device PIN is set;

  • The hardware wallet has the required blockchain app installed or the relevant account enabled;

  • The hardware wallet screen and device are unlocked.

Connection methods, device authorization, and account selection pages may vary depending on the hardware wallet brand and model. Please follow the prompts on both the OneKey App and the hardware wallet screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I send assets directly from the OneKey App after connecting?

If the brand, model, and blockchain are supported, you can usually initiate send transactions using the OneKey App. However, transactions must ultimately be confirmed on the hardware wallet itself. Please refer to the prompts in the app and on your hardware wallet.

  • Can I use OneKey's trade or staking features after connecting?

Select supported accounts can use on-chain features such as trading, swapping, or staking, but not all brands, models, and blockchains are supported. Please refer to the features currently displayed in the OneKey App.

  • Why can I connect the hardware wallet, but cannot see a specific token or feature?

Possible reasons include: the blockchain is currently not supported, the corresponding blockchain app is not open on the hardware wallet, the account type (such as derivation path) is incompatible, or the OneKey App does not yet support that asset or feature. You can first update the OneKey App and the official components for your hardware wallet, then check the account settings according to the brand's official instructions.

Can the OneKey App update firmware for Ledger, Trezor, or other hardware wallets?

No. The OneKey App cannot verify or update firmware for non-OneKey hardware wallets. Please use the official app, official tools, or official documentation of the respective brand to verify and update the firmware.
