Migrating from a Trezor hardware wallet to a OneKey hardware wallet is straightforward and secure because both devices follow the same BIP39 standard for recovery phrases.
Important Security Warnings (Read First)
Never enter your recovery phrase into any app, computer, phone, or website (anything that connects to internet). Doing so turns your cold wallet into a hot wallet and makes your wallet more vulnerable to cyber attacks.
The recovery phrase must stay strictly offline and only be entered directly on your OneKey or Trezor hardware device and a off-line storage like your backup paper(or alternative cold backups like KeyTag or OneKey Lite).
Use a brand-new, factory-reset OneKey device for the migration.
If you would like to verify the device first without entering your own phrases - follow the last part of the video. Feel free to use a set of test phrases like 12 “All” in your OneKey device first, connect it to OneKey App and verify firmware. Once the device verification passes, reset the device and import your own phrases.
After migration, you can optionally wipe the Trezor or keep it as a backup.
Always verify everything on the hardware screen, never trust software alone.
Step 1: Import Trezor Recovery Phrase into OneKey Device (On-OneKey-Device Only)
Power on your new OneKey device (Classic, Pro, or Touch model).
On the OneKey screen, use “Import Wallet”
Choose the correct number of words: 12-word, for example (same as your Trezor).
Enter each word of your Trezor recovery phrase on the OneKey device.
Confirm and finish the rest of the set up process.
Step 2: Double-Check OneKey’s Receive Address
Open the official OneKey App (desktop or mobile) and connect your OneKey device.
In the app, navigate to the same coin/network you used on Trezor (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum).
Click “Receive” — the app will verify with your OneKey device and display an address.
Compare it with the receive addresses and balances you previously had on your Trezor
If they match 100%, the migration is successful.
Pro tip: Send a very small test amount (e.g., $1–5 worth) to the new OneKey address and confirm it arrives. This is the only way to be 100% sure.
After Migration
Update the OneKey firmware to the latest version through the official app.
If you encounter any issue during the process, stop immediately and reach out to official OneKey support channels. Your security is the top priority.
