Completing an Open Position Operation

Updated today

This article introduces how to complete a basic position opening operation in the Perp module of the OneKey App. We will use ETH/USDC-PERP as an example.

[Important Step]Enable Trading

Before formally placing an order, you need to click the "Enable Trading" button on the trading panel.

  • Function: Enables a dedicated cryptographic signing channel, allowing your subsequent order placement and cancellation operations to be executed instantly.

  • Zero Fees: This operation does not require paying any Gas fees.

  • Smoother Experience: Once enabled, you don't need to repeatedly pop up wallet signatures when trading, enjoying a truly zero Gas, zero latency trading experience.

I. Enter the Perp Module

Open the OneKey App, and click Perps in the bottom navigation bar to enter the trading interface. Upon entering, you will see the market chart, the order book, and the order placement panel on the right.

II. Select Trading Pair

Click the trading pair name at the top of the page to select the contract you wish to trade, for example, ETH/USDC-PERP. After selection, the page will display the real-time price, K-line chart, funding rate, and other information for that trading pair.

III. Select Margin Mode and Leverage

In the order placement area on the right, you can select the margin mode and leverage multiple:

  • Margin Mode: Cross or Isolated

  • Leverage: Click Leverage to adjust the multiple, such as 5x, 10x, etc.

Tip: Higher leverage means higher risk. It is recommended to set it reasonably based on your risk tolerance.

IV. Set Order Parameters

Set the following parameters sequentially in the order placement panel:

  1. Order Type: Market or Limit

  2. Price: Only required for Limit Orders (you can refer to quick prices like BBO / Mid)

  3. Position Size: Enter the amount or use the percentage slider to quickly select the fund ratio

If you need to set Take Profit/Stop Loss, you can check TP/SL and fill in the trigger price and amount as prompted.

V. Select Position Direction

  • Buy / Long: Go long on a bullish view

  • Sell / Short: Go short on a bearish view

After confirming that the order information is correct, click the corresponding button to submit.

VI. Confirm Transaction

A confirmation window will pop up. Please check the leverage multiple, position size, estimated liquidation price, and other information. Submit the transaction after confirming it is correct.

After successful submission, the position information will be displayed in the Positions area at the bottom of the page, including common information such as:

  • Entry Price

  • Current Mark Price

  • PnL (Profit and Loss)

  • Liq. Price (Liquidation Price)

  • Margin and funding rate information

VII. Position Management

After opening a position, you can perform the following operations in Positions:

  • Close Position (Close)

  • Modify Take Profit/Stop Loss (TP/SL)

  • Adjust Margin or Mode (Subject to the page's functional entry points)
