Quick Start
First, press the power button to turn on the OneKey hardware wallet and follow the on-screen instructions to set the system language.
Press any key to enter the interface. Select [Create Wallet] to create a new wallet. Follow the on-screen instructions to start creating a new wallet, click [Continue], and select the number of recovery phrases. Here we use 12 words as an example.
Follow the instructions and copy the mnemonic words. Seed phrases are the only way for you to recover your wallet. Please keep them safe and do not record them on any electronic devices, nor share or record them on any network channels to ensure asset security. After copying is complete, follow the instructions to complete the mnemonic word test.
Next, you need to set a PIN code yourself, similar to a bank card withdrawal password. Numbers from 1-9, no 0. Note that if you only set 6 digits, you can choose √ at the 7th digit.
Important: When you set the PIN, you must remember it. You need to enter the PIN to unlock the hardware wallet. Entering the wrong PIN 10 times will cause the hardware wallet to reset.
After that, it shows that the wallet has been created successfully and can be used by connecting to OneKey desktop, the OneKey browser extension, or the OneKey App.
The recovery phrase is the only way for you to recover your wallet. Please keep it safe. Do not record it on any electronic devices, and do not share or record it on any network channels to ensure the security of your assets.
Recovery Phrase Check
After activation, we need to check the recovery phrase to ensure that your recovery phrase is recorded correctly and can be used to restore your address. The main steps are as follows:
Check the address. Connect the activated Classic to Desktop, view, and record the first address generated by default.
Reset the device and enter the recovery phrase. Reset Classic to clear data, and Classic will return to the unactivated state, then you can restore your wallet by entering the recovery phrase you just recorded.
Check and verify the address. After successful restoration, connect Classic to Desktop and check if the first address generated by default is the same as the address in step 1.
To do this, follow these steps:
Go to the official OneKey website https://onekey.so/download, select the corresponding computer operating system version to download, and follow the instructions to install. (Here is an example for Win 10)
Use the data cable to connect the activated hardware wallet to the computer, select [Create Wallet] - [Hardware Wallet] on the desktop, enter the PIN on Classic, and complete the connection.
Note: Some MAC computer users need to use a USB adapter to connect.
If Desktop shows the following status, please check the connection of the hardware wallet to the computer. You can try unplugging the device again or changing the cable/USB port. Sometimes the cable may show that it is powered, but the transmission voltage is unstable, and the device is still not recognized.
You can also open the Bridge status page: http://127.0.0.1:21320/status/ to see if this page displays correctly. If it cannot be opened, please download and install Bridge at https://onekey.so/download?client=bridge.
After connecting to Desktop, the first account address will be displayed by default. Click [Receive] to record the receiving address.
Then, we will check the address. Keep the mnemonic phrase you recorded when you just activated. Then, press any key on the hardware wallet to enter the option interface, select Security, and then select Reset to reset the device. After the reset is complete, return to the startup interface, set the system language, and enter the unactivated state.
Press any key to enter the interface, select Restore to restore the wallet, enter the mnemonic phrase you wrote down earlier, and check it. After it's done, you need to set the hardware wallet's PIN again. After the setup is complete, the wallet has been successfully restored.
At this time, open Desktop, select [Menu] - [Reset Application] to clear the previous record.
Then go back to the welcome page and repeat the previous steps. Select [Create Wallet] - [Hardware Wallet], enter the PIN on Classic, and complete the connection. Continue to select [Receive] - View Receiving Address.
Check if the address at this time is the same as the address recorded earlier. If the addresses are the same, the verification is complete, and the recovery phrase matches the address.
Here, you have completed the setup of your hardware wallet.
