This article will introduce the usage duration of the OneKey hardware wallet in different states, its battery capacity and lifespan, and some daily usage recommendations.
Battery Capacity and Lifespan
The OneKey hardware wallet is equipped with a lithium-ion battery. The lifespan of this battery is mainly determined by the number of complete charge and discharge cycles it undergoes.
After 500 complete charge and discharge cycles, the battery capacity reduces to 70% of its original capacity. Continued use will further decrease the battery capacity.
Usage Duration
The OneKey hardware wallet's usage duration varies in the following three states:
- Normal State
- If used continuously, it can last approximately 120 minutes.
- If no operations are performed within the preset lock-screen time, the device will enter sleep mode, which will extend the device's usage time.
- Sleep State
- In this state, the secure element inside the hardware wallet goes into sleep mode, consuming only 60% of the power compared to the normal state.
- Shutdown State
- In this state, the device consumes almost no power except for the self-discharge of the lithium battery.
Therefore, the usage time of the OneKey hardware wallet is influenced by personal usage habits and cannot be precisely determined for each individual.
Daily Usage Recommendations
- Overcharge and Overdischarge Protection
- The OneKey wallet battery uses a lithium-ion battery with built-in overcharge and discharge protection circuits. Thus, keeping it plugged into the charger or connected to the computer will not reduce the battery lifespan and will not damage the wallet. Similarly, a sudden shutdown due to low battery during use will not damage the device.
- How to Store Long-Term
- Lithium batteries have self-discharge characteristics. If not used for a long time, it is recommended to store it fully charged. If the device is stored with an empty battery, the self-discharge will increase the battery's internal resistance, causing irreversible damage to the battery.
