Why OneKey hardware bridge?

Why do I need to install OneKey hardware bridge to connect the OneKey App extension with the OneKey hardware wallet?

A: Browsers like Google Chrome do not directly support communication with external hardware devices on your local computer. This means that devices like the OneKey hardware wallet cannot establish an effective and secure connection using the browser alone.

To provide a stable and controllable interface, OneKey hardware bridge is designed as a standalone application that acts as a mediator between web applications and local hardware. This ensures better compatibility and a faster update frequency to support all features of the hardware device. It facilitates the connection for plugins that support the OneKey hardware wallet, such as OneKey App, Rabby plugin, and OKX Web3 plugin.
