This guide explains how to set up fingerprint unlock and covers important security and troubleshooting tips.
Set up your fingerprint during device initialization
When setting up a new OneKey Pro 2, you can enroll your fingerprint as part of the initial setup process.
After creating your device PIN, follow the on-screen instructions to register your fingerprint.
Add a fingerprint after setup
You do not need to enable fingerprint unlock during the initial setup.
You can add a fingerprint later directly from your OneKey Pro 2:
Unlock your OneKey Pro 2 with your PIN.
Open Settings.
Navigate to the Security settings.
Select Fingerprint.
Enter your PIN if prompted.
Add a Fingerprint - by default fingerprint unlock is enabled.
Follow the on-screen instructions to add your Fingerprint.
Your PIN is required before fingerprint settings can be changed. This helps prevent someone who gains temporary access to an unlocked device from modifying its authentication settings.
How fingerprint unlock works
Once fingerprint authentication has been enabled, you can use your fingerprint to quickly unlock your OneKey Pro 2 during normal use.
Fingerprint unlock does not replace your Seed Phrase backup
Your fingerprint is not a wallet backup or recovery method.
If your OneKey Pro 2 is lost, damaged, reset, or otherwise unavailable, your fingerprint cannot be used to recover your wallet.
Your Seed Phrase remains the critical recovery backup for your wallet and should be stored securely offline. OneKey's current Pro 2 setup guide specifically identifies the Seed Phrase as the means of recovering your assets. OneKey Help Center
Therefore:
keep your Seed Phrase securely backed up;
keep your PIN memorized;
use fingerprint unlock as an additional convenience feature.
Think of these three elements as serving different purposes:
Feature | Purpose |
Fingerprint | Convenient everyday unlocking |
PIN | Device access and authentication |
Seed Phrase | Wallet backup and recovery |
What if fingerprint unlock does not work?
What if fingerprint unlock does not work?
If your fingerprint is not recognized, try the following steps.
1. Clean the fingerprint sensor
The fingerprint sensor is built into the OneKey Pro 2 power button.
Gently wipe the power button with a clean, soft, dry cloth to remove fingerprints, moisture, dust, or other residue.
Then try unlocking the device again.
2. Reposition your finger
Place your finger naturally on the power button and make sure enough of your fingertip is touching the sensor.
Avoid touching only the edge of the sensor.
3. Use your PIN
If fingerprint recognition continues to fail, unlock your OneKey Pro 2 using your PIN.
Fingerprint authentication is designed as a convenient unlock method. Your PIN remains the fallback method whenever fingerprint authentication is unavailable.
4. Re-enroll your fingerprint if necessary
If fingerprint recognition remains unreliable, unlock the device using your PIN and return to the fingerprint settings.
Remove the existing fingerprint and enroll it again, making sure to capture different areas and angles of your fingertip during setup.

Security recommendations
For the best balance of security and convenience:
Use fingerprint unlock for quick everyday access.
Always remember your OneKey Pro 2 PIN.
Keep your Seed Phrase securely backed up offline.
Never share your PIN or Seed Phrase with anyone.
Remember that fingerprint authentication is a convenience feature, not a wallet recovery method.
If fingerprint recognition fails, use your PIN instead of repeatedly forcing the fingerprint sensor.
With fingerprint unlock enabled, OneKey Pro 2 can provide faster access during daily use while your PIN and Seed Phrase continue to serve their respective security and recovery roles.
