Quick Start
First power on the OneKey hardware wallet by pressing the power button, and follow the on-screen instructions to set the system language.
Press any key to enter the interface. Select [Create] to create a new wallet. Follow the on-screen instructions to start creating a new wallet, click [Continue], and select the number of recovery phrases. Here we take 12 words as an example.
Follow the instructions and copy the mnemonic words. Seed phrases are the only way for you to recover your wallet. Please keep them safe and do not write them on any electronic devices, nor popularize or write them on any network channel to ensure the security of your assets. After copying is complete, follow the instructions to complete the verification of the mnemonic words.
Next, you need to set up a PIN code yourself, similar to a bank card withdrawal password. Digits are from 1-9, without 0. Note that if you only set 6 digits, you can choose √ at the 7th digit.
Important: When you enter the PIN code, you must remember it. You need to enter the PIN code to unlock the hardware wallet. Entering the wrong PIN code 10 times will cause the hardware wallet to reset.
Then, it shows that the wallet has been successfully created and can be used by connecting to OneKey desktop, OneKey browser extension, or OneKey App.
The recovery phrase is the only way for you to recover your wallet. Please keep it safe. Do not write it on any electronic device, and do not share or write it on any network channel to ensure the security of your assets.
Recovery Phrase Verification
After activation, we need to verify the recovery phrase to ensure that your recovery phrase is recorded correctly and can be used to restore your address. The main steps are as follows:
Verify Address. Connect the activated Classic to Desktop, view and record the first address generated by default.
Reset Device and Restore Phrase. Reset the Classic to clear its data. The Classic will return to an unactivated state, and then you can restore your wallet by entering the recovery phrase you just recorded.
Check and Verify Address. After successful restoration, connect the Classic to Desktop and check if the first address generated by default is the same as the address in step 1.
To do this, follow these steps:
Open the official OneKey website https://onekey.so/download , select the corresponding operating system version for your computer to download, and follow the instructions to install. (This is an example for Win 10)
Use the data cable to connect the activated hardware wallet to the computer. Select [Create Wallet] - [Hardware Wallet] on the desktop, enter the PIN code on the Classic, and complete the connection.
Note: Some MAC computer users may need to use a USB adapter.
If the Desktop is still in the following state, please check the connection of your hardware wallet to your computer. You can try unplugging the device or changing the cable/USB port. Sometimes the cable may show that it has power, but the voltage transmission is unstable and the device is still not recognized.
You can also open the Bridge status page: http://127.0.0.1:21320/status/ to see if this page displays correctly. If it cannot be opened, download and install Bridge at https://onekey.so/download?client=bridge.
After connecting to Desktop, the first account address will be displayed by default. Click [Receive] to record the receiving address.
Then, we will verify the address. Keep the mnemonic phrase you recorded when you just activated. Then, press any key on the hardware wallet to enter the option interface, select Security and then select Reset to reset the device. After the reset is complete, it will return to the startup interface, set the system language, and enter the unactivated state.
Press any key to enter the interface, select Restore to restore the wallet, enter the mnemonic phrase you recorded earlier, and verify it. After completion, you need to set the hardware wallet's PIN code again. After setting it up, the wallet has been successfully restored.
At this point, open Desktop, select [Menu] - [Reset App] to clear the previous record.
Then go back to the welcome page and repeat the previous steps. Select [Create Wallet] - [Hardware Wallet], enter the PIN code on the Classic, and complete the connection. Continue to select [Receive] - View Receiving Address.
Check if the address at this time is the same as the previously recorded address. If the addresses are identical, the verification is complete, and the recovery phrase matches the address.
Here, you have completed the setup of your hardware wallet.
