Quick Start
First, press the power button to turn on the OneKey hardware wallet, and follow the on-screen prompts to set the system language.
Press any button to enter the interface, select [Create] to create a new wallet. Follow the on-screen prompts to start creating a new wallet. Click [Continue], and choose the number of recovery phrases you want. Here we take 12 words as an example.
Follow the prompts and copy the mnemonic words. The seed phrases are the only way for you to recover your wallet. Please keep them well, and do not record them on any electronic devices, nor share or record them on any network channels, for the security of your assets. After copying, follow the prompts to complete the mnemonic phrase verification.
Next, you need to manually set a PIN code, which is similar to a bank card withdrawal password. The numbers are 1-9, no 0. Please note that if you only set 6 digits, you can select √ in the 7th digit.
Important: When you enter the PIN code, you must remember it. You need to enter the PIN code to unlock the hardware wallet. Entering the PIN code incorrectly 10 times will cause the hardware wallet to reset.
After that, it will show that the wallet creation is successful and can be used by connecting OneKey desktop, OneKey browser extension, or OneKey App.
The recovery phrase is the only way for you to recover your wallet. Please keep it well; do not record it on any electronic devices, nor share or record it on any network channels, for the security of your assets.
Verify Recovery Phrase
After activation, we need to verify the recovery phrase to ensure your recovery phrase is copied correctly and can be used to restore your address. The main steps are as follows:
Verify Address Connect the activated Classic to the Desktop, view and save the first generated address by default.
Reset Device and Import Recovery Phrase Reset the Classic to clear data, and the Classic will return to the unactivated state. Then you can restore your wallet by importing the recovery phrase you just copied.
Verify and Confirm Address After successful restoration, connect the Classic to the Desktop and check whether the first generated address by default matches the address in Step 1.
To do this, follow these steps:
Open the official OneKey website https://onekey.so/download , select the corresponding computer operating system version to download, and follow the prompts to install (this is an example for Win 10).
Use the data cable to connect the activated hardware wallet to the computer. Select [Create Wallet] - [Hardware Wallet] on the desktop. Enter the PIN code on the Classic and complete the connection.
Note: Some MAC computer users may need to use a USB adapter.
If the Desktop remains in the following state, please check the connection of your hardware wallet with the computer. You can try unplugging the device, or change the USB cable/port. Sometimes the cable may show power, but the data transmission voltage is unstable, and the device is still not recognized.
You can also open the Bridge status page: http://127.0.0.1:21320/status/ to see if it displays correctly. If it cannot be opened, please download and install the Bridge at https://onekey.so/download?client=bridge.
After connecting to the Desktop, the first account address will be displayed by default. Click [Receive] to save the receiving address.
Then, we will verify the address. Keep the mnemonic phrase you wrote down during the last activation. Then, press any button on the hardware wallet to enter the option interface. Select Security, then select Reset to reset the device. After the reset is complete, the device will return to the unactivated state.
Press any button to enter the interface. Select Restore to restore the wallet. Enter the mnemonic phrase you wrote down earlier, and verify it. After completion, you will need to reset the hardware wallet's PIN code. After setting it up, the wallet will be successfully restored.
At this point, open the Desktop and select [Menu] - [Reset App] to clear previously saved data.
Then, return to the welcome page and repeat the previous steps. Select [Create Wallet] - [Hardware Wallet], enter the PIN code on the Classic, and complete the connection. Continue to select [Receive] - View Receiving Address.
Check if the address at this point matches the one saved earlier. If the addresses are the same, the verification is complete and the recovery phrase matches the address.
Here you have successfully set up your hardware wallet.
