Protecting your recovery seed is important when it comes to maintaining self-custody of your crypto assets. Fortunately, we've streamlined the essential initial setup for cold storage - the OneKey KeyTag, making it more accessible than ever before. This guide will walk you through the process of securing your recovery seed with the OneKey KeyTag.
What you'll need
OneKey KeyTag
Automatic Center Punch Tool
A completed recovery sheet from your OneKey hardware wallet
Secure your recovery phrase with OneKey Keytag
Step 1: Locate the words
Open the BIP39 Dot Map. (You can also find the BIP39 word list in the KeyTag Getting Started booklet.)
Find the corresponding dot pattern for your recovery seed phrase (recorded on your completed recovery sheet).
Note: The black dots indicate where holes need to be punched on the OneKey KeyTag plate.
Step 2: Punch the words
Align the center of the dot and press the automatic center punch tool to punch a hole.
Notes:
Each row in the KeyTag corresponds to one individual word of your recovery phrase.
The sequence of numbers (e.g., "1, 2, 3,11, 12") displayed on the KeyTag indicates the specific order of the recovery phrase.
Back up your passphrase in the "*" row when needed.
