Migrate your Monero wallet from OneKey App to Monero GUI Wallet

This article will walk you through the process of migrating your Monero wallet created in the OneKey App to the Monero GUI Wallet developed and maintained by the Monero community to better manage your $XMR assets.

Process

Step 1: Visit the OneKey App website

Step 2: Restore your wallet
  • Choose "Import Wallet."
  • Choose any import method that can restore your OneKey App wallet.

  • Set the password for the wallet.
  • You can now see your wallet has been restored.

Step 3: Export the Mnemonic Seed of your Monero wallet
  • Switch the chain to Monero.

  • Click "Create Account."
  • Click on your account name.

  • Click “” and then choose "View Details."

  • Select "Export Secret Mnemonic" to export your Monero wallet mnemonic phrases.

  • Enter the wallet password to check the details of mnemonic phrases.
  • Write down your mnemonic phrases from the Monero wallet and keep them in a safe place. (Please do not make any digital copies.)
Step 4: Download and install the Monero GUI Wallet

  • Download the corresponding wallet version of your operating system.

  • (Optional) Verify the downloaded file by comparing the checksum with the provided checksum in the Verify sector. If you don't know how to verify the file, refer to this article.

  • Open the downloaded file and install the Monero GUI wallet.
Step 5: Import the Mnemonic Seed to restore your Monero wallet
  • Run the installed Monero GUI wallet.
  • Choose the system language for the wallet.

  • Choose "Simple mode."

  • Check to agree to understand the privacy implications of using a third-party server.

  • Choose "Restore wallet from keys or mnemonic seed."

  • Enter "Wallet name" and choose "Restore from seed."
  • Enter the mnemonic phrases you exported in Step 4.
  • Enter the wallet creation date or restore height. (If you have forgotten the exact date, please enter a date that you can confirm you had not created a Monero wallet before.) 
  • Click "Next" to proceed.

  • Set a password for the wallet and click "Next" to proceed.

  • Check wallet information and click "Create wallet" to complete the restoration process.
