Back up your OneKey Pro with OneKey Lite

This article provides a detailed guide on how to back up your OneKey Pro hardware wallet using the OneKey Lite card, as well as instructions for restoring your OneKey Pro wallet with the OneKey Lite card.

Backing up with OneKey Lite

Once you have fully set up your OneKey Pro hardware wallet, the OneKey Lite card offers an alternative backup method. Follow these steps to back up your wallet:

Step 1: Choose OneKey Lite as the backup solution
  • Enter your PIN to unlock the OneKey Pro device. Select "Back Up" on the main screen.
  • Select "OneKey Lite" as the backup method.
  • Enter your OneKey Pro device PIN number.
  • Select the number of words for your recovery phrases. (For example, 12 / 18 / 24)

Step 2: Validate your recovery phrase
  • Enter the recovery phrase word by word.
  • The device will match these words with those stored in its security chip.
  • If they match, the screen will display "Correct." Press "Continue."

Step 3: Set up the OneKey Lite PIN number
  • Place your OneKey Lite card against the back of your OneKey Pro device and press "Continue."
  • Create and confirm a PIN for the OneKey Lite card.

Step 4: Transfer the recovery phrase
  • The OneKey Pro will search for the OneKey Lite card and transfer the encrypted recovery phrase securely.
  • Keep the card in place until the transfer completes. Once done, the screen will show "Back Up Complete."

Restoring from OneKey Lite

Should you acquire a new OneKey Pro hardware wallet or need to restore after a reset, you can easily import accounts using the OneKey Lite card. Here's how:

Step 1: Power on the device and choose "Import Wallet"
  • Turn on your OneKey Pro device and select your language.
  • Choose "Import Wallet" and then select "OneKey Lite."
  • Agree to enable the PIN protection.
  • Enter and confirm the PIN for your OneKey Pro device.

Step 2: Place your OneKey Lite
  • Select "Not Now" to skip enabling fingerprint unlocking.
  • Position the card against the back of your OneKey Pro and press "Continue."
  • Enter the PIN you set for the OneKey Lite card.

Step 3: Transfer the recovery phrase
  • If the PIN is correct, the device will pair with the OneKey Lite card and begin restoring the wallet accounts.
  • When "Wallet is Ready" appears on the screen, your wallet has been successfully imported and is ready for use.
