Press any key to enter the interface. Select [Create] to create a new wallet, follow the on-screen prompts to start creating a new wallet, then click [Continue] and choose the recovery phrase number, here we take 12 words as an example.

Follow the prompt and copy down the recovery words. Seed phrases are the only way for you to restore your wallet. Please keep them properly and do not record them on any electronic device, nor publish or record them on any network channel to ensure the safety of assets. After completing the copy, follow the prompt to complete the verification of recovery phrases.

Next, you need to set a PIN code yourself, which is similar to the withdrawal code for a bank card. The numbers are from 1 to 9, without 0. Note that if you only set 6 digits, you can tick √ in the seventh digit.
Important: When entering the PIN, you must remember the PIN. You will need to enter the PIN to unlock the hardware wallet. Entering the PIN incorrectly 10 times will result in the hardware wallet being reset.
After that, it shows that the wallet has been successfully created, and it can be used by connecting OneKey Desktop, or adding OneKey browser extension, or OneKey App.

Recovery Phrase Verification

After activation, we need to verify the recovery phrase to ensure that your recovery phrase has been copied correctly and can be used to restore your address. The steps are basically as follows:

  1. Address Verification. Connect the activated Classic to Desktop, and view and record the first address generated by default.

  2. Device Reset and Recovery Phrase Import. Reset the Classic to clear data and the Classic will return to its inactive state, after which you will be able to restore your wallet by importing the recovery phrase you just copied.

  3. Address Verification. After successful restoration, connect the Classic to Desktop and check if the first address generated by default is the same as the address in Step 1.

To do this, follow these steps:

Open the official OneKey website https://onekey.so/download , select the appropriate version for your computer's operating system to download, and follow the prompts to install. (Here is an example for Win 10)

Use a data cable to connect the activated hardware wallet to the computer, select [Create Wallet] - [Hardware Wallet] on the desktop, enter the PIN code on the Classic and complete the connection.
Note: Some users using Mac devices need to use a USB adapter port for connection.

If the Desktop remains in the following state, please check the connection of your hardware wallet to the computer. You can try unplugging the device or replacing the USB cable/port. Sometimes the cable may appear to be working with power, but the transmission voltage is unstable and the device is still unrecognized.

You can also open the Bridge status page: http://127.0.0.1:21320/status/ to see if this page is displayed correctly. If it cannot be opened, please download and install Bridge at https://onekey.so/download?client=bridge.

Then, press any key on the hardware wallet to enter the options interface, select Security, and then select Reset to reset the device. After the reset is complete, enter the startup interface, set the system language, and enter the inactive state.

Check if the address at this stage is the same as the address recorded before. If the addresses match, it means the verification is complete and the recovery phrase matches the address.

Here you have completed setting up your hardware wallet.
